|Supervised Exam||There is a UNE Supervised Examination held at the end of the teaching period in which you are enrolled.|

On the final day of the mandatory Intensive School, students will be accessing the School of Rural Medicine, Anatomy Teaching Facility where students will be using donated human material. Conscientious objectors will be provided with alternative activities.

This unit will explore the anatomy of the nervous system at all of its levels of organisation from histological through to gross anatomy including the developing brain. Topics will include the histological exploration of neurons and glia, neurodevelopment, gross anatomy of both the peripheral and central nervous system, including the major nerves, spinal cord, brain stem, diencephalon and cerebrum as well as the anatomy of the eye and visual system.
Note: Students are expected to purchase prescribed material. Please note that textbook requirements may vary from one teaching period to the next.
