This unit will introduce students to the processes that underlie cellular adaptation and injury as well as inflammation and healing. Students will examine the pathophysiological processes that underlie the development of disease and disorders. The focus will be on blood, and the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, endocrine, reproductive, immune, gastrointestinal and renal systems. The ways in which stress can contribute to these processes will also be investigated.
