Group 2 - Curriculum Units
Complete 18 to 36 credit points depending upon the number and combination of teaching specialisations:


* In the case of Music or Sciences, candidates must have enough Music or Science discipline units in their undergraduate qualification to qualify to teach Music, Science or one of the specialist sciences as a first teaching area. If they also have sufficient discipline units for another teaching area, as specified in their offer letter, they may take 12 or 24 credit points of curriculum units in Music or Science and 12 credit points in the other teaching area.

In the case of Mathematics/Physics, candidates study 30 credit points of curriculum units: two in Mathematics, two in Science, and one in STEM.

The asterisk indicates the units that must be studied when undertaking 12 credit points in these teaching areas. Students undertaking 24 credit points must complete all four units in the suite. Students may take up to three teaching specialisations in the HSIE area. Students undertaking one HSIE teaching specialisation are required to undertake EDSS311 and the specialised curriculum method unit. Students undertaking two or more teaching specialisations in HSIE are required to undertake both EDSS311 and EDSS312, as well as the specialised curriculum units. EDSS312 should be completed before attempting the second specialised curriculum unit.
