This unit is custom-tailored to give you the opportunity to embrace deep thought and practical research techniques and apply them to an advanced study in your particular area of interest in the field of education.

Topics for your post graduate dissertation must be formulated in consultation with, and conducted under the supervision of, an appropriate academic member of staff.

Your independent research will include the collection, analysis and discussion of primary data.

Enrolment in this unit is subject to the availability of a supervisor. Students seeking to enrol are first required to complete the EDUC599 Dissertation Application Form.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate a deep understanding of a particular field of study;
  2. conduct a research investigation in a particular field of study using a method appropriate to the research question; and
  3. prepare and submit an empircally research based dissertation of a standard appropriate to the award.

Dissertation/dissertation by journal article format (minimum one article (equivalent to 15,000 words) plus an applied research portfolio equivalent to 7,500 words, or two publishable journal articles).Topic to be negotiated with supervisor.
