- Research and Writing Across Disciplines
|Coordinator(s)||Beck Wise (firstname.lastname@example.org)|
This unit provides students with the opportunity to enhance their skills in research and writing. It is an ideal unit to transition to further study and/or the workplace. It draws together key principles and techniques for qualitative research in a range of disciplines, together with strategies of writing that facilitate research and help present findings effectively. The unit has two modules: (i) research practice, covering the process of developing research questions aligned with research methods; and (ii) guided application of this process to work more independently on an issue in a disciplinary area, rehearsing and refining skills of research and communication. Case studies that support this independent work include literature; screen, media and culture; and writing, editing and publishing.
Note: Students are expected to purchase prescribed material. Please note that textbook requirements may vary from one teaching period to the next.
