Unit Description

This unit provides students with the opportunity of studying Indonesian in Indonesia at upper beginner-intermediate level. It is an in-country programme developed collaboratively between the University of New England, the University of the Sunshine Coast, Charles Darwin University, the University of Tasmania and MALFI (Mataram Lingua Franca Institute) in Indonesia.

This unit is taught in-country, in Indonesia, providing a special immersion experience of the Indonesian language and culture.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. communicate in Indonesian in both written and spoken forms through study undertaken at an in-country university at a beginner-intermediate level;
  2. communicate in Indonesian on general topics at a beginner-intermediate level; and
  3. demonstrate an advanced understanding of the culture of Indonesia.
