Enhance your knowledge and understanding of Italian culture with this Italian language unit.
This unit is designed to introduce you to 20th-Century Italy through the study of Italian poetry, narrative, drama and cinema. Through close textual analysis of the prescribed works, you will extend your competency in reading and help you to understand modern Italian culture. You will be interpreting and evaluating the texts in the context of the socio-political situation in modern day Italy.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- critically analyse intermediate literary texts;
- demonstrate knowledge of modern Italian literature and culture at an intermediate level;
- interpret and evaluate intermediate texts in the context of the socio-political situation in modern Italy; and
- apply intermediate-level language skills to the reading of modern Italian texts.
