Unit Description

This unit allows students to take advantage of visiting or external academic staff who may wish to offer a unit in their area of interest on an occasional basis. Accordingly, School of Law does not guarantee that the unit will run in any particular teaching period or in any particular year. Students intending to enrol in this unit should check with the School of Law whether it will be offered in the teaching period the student wishes to enrol.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. demonstrate a broad and coherent understanding of the nature and scope of the special studies area of law;
  2. use cognitive and creative skills to employ legal research techniques, reasoning and argument to communicate a coherent exposition of legal issues relevant to the special studies area of law of the unit; and
  3. use initiative and judgement to critically analyse, synthesise, and consolidate the law relevant to the special studies area of law in developing well-reasoned and persuasive legal arguments and solutions to complex issues.
