This unit builds upon prior learning through a range of advanced soil science topics integral to sustainable soil resource management. The unit, delivered entirely on-line, provides students with interactive and investigative learning opportunities to develop their understanding of different areas of soil science and applications in the real world context. Students will develop autonomy, independent judgement and articulate their learning in facilitated on-line forums. Topics include current issues of significance in climate, population and sustainable resource use debates worldwide such as pollution; global nutrient balances; climate change and carbon farming; soil health assessment and soil education.
